My Start!

Well, I'm starting this journal, mainly for me, as a resource for finding all of my favorite recipes in one place. I think it's also a great way for me to see my progression over time. I have so many ups and downs and really like to express in some form, the outcome of my experiences. Today I had an amazing food tasting. My friend, Stef, had come to my very first show and booked a party for me. It was a relief to have someone else excited with me about this amazing food. My theory when I'm preparing for a food tasting is this: #1 The food needs to be amazing #2 Everything I present has to be made from my pantry. #3 The product speaks for itself, so bring on the food. #4 Look at the food your presenting as an investment, you've got to spend money to make money. This show was my first couples show, I highly recommend them. Get the husbands involved, the wives are going to have to go home and resell it to them anyway. We were banking on all of our kids being able to play outside. However, the weather turned stormy so we had six couples and a lot of kids in the house all at once. The nice part was that I was with friends, so when one of the children got a bloody nose we were able to still keep some kind of sanity. When I'm show casing this food I'm really just there to sharing my experiences, it really speaks for itself. When prepared correctly, all your crowd needs to understand is HOW to stock up their pantry. For some reason when I am put in front of a crowd to explain the Q I find myself at a loss for words. I have been to previous parties where they show the video and explain it that way. However, it has been my experience that when you stick your audience in front of a dvd, however good it may be, they either lose interest, or it feels like a pyramid scheme of some sort. This means that now I've given myself the challenge of properly describing the program, and explaining why it's so benefical. The conclusion I've come to is that when you use the word "Q" it's a trigger word. Now people are no longer paying attention to your description, all they're thinking about is, what's a Q... A friend told me to explain how the Q is like a grocery store. You budget a given amount, choose your groceries, and wait for it to be delivered to your house. Additionally, the company rewards you for using Shelf Reliance over other companies with a rewards program. Now here comes the tricky part. You want to explain the benefits of being on the Platinum, that's where you get all the fun stuff. But people look at the Q sheet and see the price and an annual renewal fee and "check out" before you can say "it can be free!" I feel as though I need to overcome that obstacle of how to get it for free, before they can understand that normally it would cost them $80, plus a $20 renewal fee. I'm so glad that the company has made it possible for people to become a Platinum Q customer by either getting two friends to join up together, or it being a reward for spending $100.00. Their idea is to treat you like a VIP so you'll want to stay with them and tell your friends about it. I've decided to start my shows with food. It gives everyone a chance to see what this is all about, taste it for themselves, so they aren't wondering what are we doing here, and wait till she drops the bomb with the cost... this time I served Breakfast. We had crepes with Strawberry sauce, 6- grain pancakes, hashbrowns, eggs, milk and peach drink. At every party I have a couple of things that I am personally impressed by. For instance, the sour cream, I love the THRIVE sour cream, and butter, and other basics that go with the meal I'm serving. This takes out the guess work for everyone when they wonder what it tastes like. In my presnetation I am always preparing food in front of them. They need to see how easy it is to put together, and that I really am not doing anything else but adding water. I love to show the eggs. I am so impressed by the eggs. I love how fluffy they are and how fresh they taste, and how quickly they come together. I also like showing the taco TVP, simply for the fact that I remember the first time I saw it being made I was astounded at how it came together. As I am preparing items I take note of which of them really suprise me, because those are the ones that I take with me to my shows. Do I spend more money at my shows this way? Yes, but you have to spend money to make money. I had a $300 order, and all but one item I had prepared at my show. This theory has been tested and proved. When you're showing how easy and convenient this food is to make, people want to share that with their friends. I get so many responses just because I show people how to do it. I also make a point to have things that my host can prepare when I get there. That way she can see and confirm to herself how easy this really is to use. When youre trying to finalize and close a sale your host is so important to have your back. Treat your host with respect, trust, and care. I know I've written way more than anyone will probably ever want to read. Even if this is for myself, writing it down makes me feel positive about the way I'm running my shows. I know that this works. The food sales itself, so let it. Note to myself, learn how to present to Q with ease and authority and CLARITY! Understand the points I need to get across and how to make people see it too. All will be well, this is an amazing company and I am so excited to be at the beginning of something remarkable.
